Responsible for the accounting, analyzing and reconciliation of Blue Card (ITS) transactions and fees. Maintain PCPM HOME Bulk spreadsheet which validates the Blue Card Fees due to other Plans and their subsequent payment. Maintain and analyze the Grand Billing from BCBSA. Perform and maintain all accounting and financial regulatory compliance for the Political Action Committee (PAC). Analyze and reconcile the Value Based Care activity and record the essential journal entries.   Analyze, verify and reconcile the weekly Rx Invoice from Prime Therapeutics, Inc. for Rx claims to the weekly MCEF claim file from Prime. Develop and implement invoicing of 3rd party vendor fees due to NE and the payment of these fees to other Blue plans, including the journal entries reflecting this activity. Provide requested documentation to both internal and external auditors.

 

What you'll do:

  • Daily reconciliation of ITS HOME & HOST Blue Card activity and verifying the daily transfer of funds between BCBSN FNNI Bank and Mellon Bank. 

Monthly responsibility to:

  • Prepare, validate and post all weekly and month end journal entries for HOST and HOME activity, VBC, and other miscellaneous entries as needed
  • Maintain PCPM (Per Contract Per Month) HOME Bulk spreadsheet
  • Maintain and analyze the monthly Grand Billing received by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA)
  • Analyze and reconcile Value Based Care payments and receivables.  Prepare, validate and post monthly journal entries to reflect the VBC activity
  • Analyze, verify and reconcile the weekly invoice from Prime Therapeutics, Inc. for Rx claims to the weekly MCEF claim file received from Prime. Prepare documentation for weekly payment to Prime.
  • Perform Blue Card 3rd party vendor fees as allowed per the BCBSNE/BlueCard contract
  • Perform and maintain all accounting activity for the Political Action Committee (PAC)
  • As requested, provide and substantiate requested documentation to both internal and external auditors

 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3 years accounting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.
  • The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:
  • Experience in Health Insurance Industry
