A SQL Database Administrator is responsible for all aspects of database and database server operations for distributed databases residing on Microsoft SQL Server. Also, responsible to ensure high availability and integrity across the database servers in the enterprise. Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases. Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Able to work with management to develop database strategies to support company needs; responsible for directing the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary. Also, able to advise and consult with users on accessing various databases, and to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate use of data.

What you'll do:

  • Active coaching and lead others toward technical skill development. Frequent and meaningful communications with IT and business partners via both formal and informal channels/mechanisms. Continuous improvement and execution of measured service level objectives balanced with cost control.
  • Design and create database/ database objects. Work with Infrastructure services on database and database server capacity planning. Perform database backup and restores. Perform database optimizations and DBCC checks.
  • Develop database disaster recovery planning. Database tuning and performance analysis. Index analysis and fine tuning.
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues. Upgrade and apply maintenance to product software. Research product enhancements and capabilities.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering and 4 years of relational database administration experience, specifically in MS SQL Server.
  • Experience in SQL Replication, Always-On technologies.
  • Experience in Azure SQL DBA admin a plus.
  • Experience in SQL reporting services.
  • Strong scripting skills with Power Shell.
  • Experience in SQL Server performance tuning
  • Participate in a rotating 24×7 on-call support team.
  • Willing to learn other technologies like ETL development, Informatica Admin, Enterprise scheduler.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet this requirement.
