This position is responsible for leading and monitoring the billing/paid claims data and related source systems that feed the Finance Operational System (FOS) database. This position will analyze system controls and processes to assure transactions are being processed accurately and timely, as well as review peer members’ work.  This position will provide business requirements and coordinate with IT technical teams on new builds and/or enhancements. In addition, this role will create adhoc operational reports using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and Microsoft SQL Server Report Builder.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for proactively reviewing and keeping the billing/claim adjudication and check writing systems in sync with the FOS database. This role will lead and maintain vendor system relationships, and assist business areas with data reconciliation and system adjustment activities.  This role will also provide support to Ancillary Vendors, HealthRules Payor (HRP), Planside data.
  • Serve as Finance Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) on billing and finance systems. Interact with business and IT to develop and maintain appropriate controls and reporting functions. Support business with potentially complex Microsoft SQL queries as needed.
  • Ability to independently perform analysis on conformed data to ensure business receives accurate reporting.
  • Proactively identify operational deficiencies within processes and systems that put the Finance Department operational controls, or BCBSNE customer relationships, at risk.
  • Responsible for ensuring systems and processes are compliant with Model Audit Rules (MAR) and SOC 1 controls.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and 4+ years of finance business operations experience
  • 5 + years’ experience with automated reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing issue research and resolution.
  • Analyze and resolve system technical deficiencies.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge in Microsoft SQL.
  • 3+ years’ experience in implementing data controls.
