This position is responsible to work through the brokerage distribution network. This includes individual business, plus employer groups with 2 to 99 eligible employees. An emphasis is place on establishing and building on broker relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Consult with brokers to encourage sales of individual and small groups by working with our broker network in a team environment. This is accomplished through a series of many meetings which are held throughout the year. These meetings and the constant communication with brokers and groups are essential to maintain these contracts.
  • Advise, consult and assist Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska field representatives, marketing and underwriting personnel on matters concerning all accounts. 
  • Keep abreast of competition. This requires constant communication by phone and personal contacts with brokers and groups. 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years experience in sales. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet this requirement.
  • Must possess a current State of Nebraska Department of Insurance licensure in life and health
  • Sales and/or leadership training
  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Affiliation with Nebraska Association of Heath Underwriters
