BCBSNE is happy to offer four remote, office, and hybrid options for Omaha area employees.  If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, and Texas.

The Automation Test Engineer position will be responsible for automation testing efforts for assigned team, building and delivering automation test approaches for various phases of the SDLC process, promoting a whole team approach to quality. Additionally, they will collaborate with their team to refine the user stories into testable acceptance criteria, design and execute reusable tests that validate the solution and mitigate risk. They are creative team player with excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and experienced in software testing, automation technical skills, data and system knowledge that enables them to support in all phases of testing, release planning, deployments, documentation and production support. What you'll do:

  • Perform automation development and maintenance tasks with minimal mentoring with medium to large projects
  • Integrate automation tests into the team’s continuous integration and delivery pipeline
  • Deliver artifacts that provide and assist in the development of testing solutions for stories and tasks.
  • Prepare complex data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows.
  • Deliver artifacts that provide and assist in the development of testing solutions for stories and tasks.
  • Participate in automation testing code reviews
  • Collaborate with both development and product teams to build test plans and defect verification.
  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders on requirements, stories and tasks for acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in evaluations of proposed automation candidates, providing technical evaluation and/or assessments
  • Accountable and meeting project timelines; drive same accountability across team

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4-6 years of experience in Automation testing
  • 2+ years in-depth software quality assurance testing experience, with at least 1+ years related to automation testing or software/data development in testing will be considered as well.
  • Experience developing or integrating 3rd-party test automation framework, test management and monitoring tools, performance testing tools and automation technologies.
  • 1+ years SQL skills knowledge for data testing and validation.
  • Ability to write scripts/code/sql to automate, UI, API and Data testing
  • Experience with web/rest services automation testing tools to include (but not limited to) JMeter, SOAP UI, Postman, RestSharp etc.
  • Experience in automation testing development and tool sets to include (but not limited to) Selenium w/C#, WinAppDriver, TestArchitect or other Keyword drive tool sets.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including requirements analysis and basic application architecture knowledge
  • Experienced in developing test strategies and test cases in test management systems. 
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management systems. 
  • Ability to design, execute and maintain test cases and test suites.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines amid shifting priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks
  • Excellent written/communication skills that drive logical and creative thinking to identify solutions.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Data structure (Relational, Dimensional and Semi-structured) and flow.
  • Knowledge of business processes strongly preferred. 
  • Prior experience in Health Insurance industry. 
  • Must have good communication skills and a positive problem-solving attitude. 
  • Experience collaborating and work tracking in Microsoft Azure DevOps Experience with data automation testing tools including (Informatica IDQ and iceDQ) etc.
  • Experience in automation testing development including Data Quality Scorecards, Reconciliation, Profiles and Data Pipeline Transformations using various data automation testing tools.
