The DevOps Engineer position will be responsible for working with cross-functional business teams to research, design, test, and maintain various systems and applications. This role is responsible for providing engineering knowledge and experience, as needed, to deliver solutions to the business both on new builds, as well as support on modifications and maintenance for existing applications and tools. This role will utilize previous experience and skills with development and infrastructure to create and maintain necessary IS operational and technical support functions in partnership with other peer technical teams  

 What you'll do:  

  • Show demonstrated knowledge and experience as needed to maintain and make modifications to existing applications and tools utilized by the business.  
  • Work cross-functionally with business teams to research, design, test, and engineer new systems, applications and tools.  
  • Demonstrate passion and integrity, with the drive to excel in developing and supporting software systems.  
  • Partner with team and department leaders to ensure solutions and applications are stable, secure, and scalable.   
  • Collaborate with upper level roles on architectural decisions to ensure solutions are designed for successful implementation within the vision of the enterprise architecture. 
  • Communicate with other teams, stakeholders and leadership to ensure alignment and business confidence in solutions being delivered.  
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure to help monitor and performance tune data structures and pipelines for optimal use and best practice.  
  • Assist with continuous integration & continuous deployment (CI/CD) process to provision rapid deployment
  • Evangelize automation for application and infrastructure provisioning on prem and to cloud
  • Develop and maintain Powershell  scripts.
  • Design and implement processes and tools to help Software Development and Infrastructure teams work efficiently.  Act as a subject matter expert and primary contact for IS peer teams.  
  • Develop or further existing automation and system management tools and processes by writing algorithms to create software bots that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency.  
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Software Development teams to research industry trends and develop product roadmaps for tools, perform upgrades and complete sustainability activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments. 
  • Participate in coaching and leading others toward technical skill development.  
  • Active participant in the internal COP (Community of Practice) group.
  • Participate in oncall rotation and support 24x7 escalations and notifications.  

  To be considered for this position, you must have:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field of study. 
  • Experience with Tools/Technologies like Azure, SQL and Informatica.  
  • 3 years of experience with DevOps tooling like Azure DevOps pipelines & releases, PowerShell, GIT, NPM, NuGet, Container & Kubernetes, Azure SAAS, PAAS & IAAS or similar applications.  
  • Knowledge in relational database administration, specifically in MS SQL Server.  
  • Strong Knowledge & ability to code in PowerShell ∙ Strong Knowledge & ability to code .NET.
  • Experience with software lifecycle processes, code reviews, and source control platforms like SSDT, Visual Studio, GIT, VSTS/Azure DevOps.  
  • Ability to write ARM templates and a strong influencer of Infrastructure as a code.  

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:  

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, (Team Foundation Server),  GitHub, Jenkins, or similar applications.  
  • DevOps principles (continuous integration, continuous deploy, continuous delivery)  
  • Infrastructure Automation and Development  
  • Source Control platforms like SSDT, Visual Studio, GIT, VSTS/DevOps
