BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid – 3 days in office, Hybrid – 2 days in office, 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In this position, you will serve on a highly collaborative team delivering infrastructure technology solutions for BCBSNE. On this Agile team you will be focused on analyzing, engineering, implementing, administering and troubleshooting our infrastructure technology. The scope of this position will also include effectively partnering with existing and prospective vendors. You will be expected to support your team in Agile ceremonies and processes such as release planning, sprint planning, story writing, standups, retrospectives, etc. This highly empowered team environment will grant you great freedom to achieve while also demanding a high level of responsibility.

This role will utilize previous experience and skills with development and infrastructure to create and maintain necessary IS operational and technical support functions in partnership with other peer technical teams.  This role is responsible for developing, configuring, monitoring, and sustaining technology across environments.

What you'll do:

  • Provide production support to Corporate Scheduling tool (Tidal) and SFTP File transfer (Axway Secure Transport) environments.
  • Develop process and procedure to effectively maintain the Scheduling and File transfer tools.
  • Develop and maintain Perl scripts.
  • Design and implement processes and tools to help Software Development and Infrastructure teams work efficiently.  Act as a subject matter expert and primary contact for IS peer teams.
  • Develop or further existing automation and system management tools and processes by writing algorithms to create software bots that reduce manual efforts and increase overall efficiency.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Software Development teams to research industry trends and develop product roadmaps for tools, perform upgrades and complete sustainability activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.
  • Participate in coaching and leading others toward technical skill development.
  • Active participant in the internal COP (Community of Practice) group
  • Utilize previous experience to facilitate and lead the critical file transfer processes.
  • Ensure frequent and meaningful communications across IS and business partners via both formal and informal channels.
  • Participate in oncall rotation and support 24x7 escalations and notifications.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field of study.
  • 3-4 years of experience with maintaining scheduling tools like Tidal or UC4 and SFTP File transfer tools like MoveIT or Axway Secure Transfer or similar applications.
  • Knowledge in relational database administration, specifically in MS SQL Server.
  • Knowledge in developing and maintain SSRS reports.
  • Strong Knowledge & ability to code in PowerShell
  • Strong Knowledge & ability to code in Perl scripts.
  • Experience with software lifecycle processes, code reviews, and source control platforms like SSDT, Visual Studio, GIT, VSTS/Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to write ARM templates and a strong influencer of Infrastructure as a code.
  • High attention to new Azure services and features and deep curiosity about technology and industry trends.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Experience with UC4, Tidal, MoveIT, SFTP Secure Transfer Axway tools or similar applications.
  • DevOps principles (continuous integration, continuous deploy, continuous delivery)
  • Infrastructure Automation and Development
  • Source Control platforms like SSDT, Visual Studio, GIT, VSTS/DevOps
