This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day account management and account service for employer-sponsored accounts. Responsible for achieving assigned sales goals and retention goals through effective management of the sales teams. In addition, collaborates with the executive & senior management team in defining and developing the company’s ongoing group product marketing strategies.

Job Description

  • Directs and oversees the work of the sales team to achieve assigned goals through effective management of the sales team.
  • Plans, executes and maintains relationships with accounts to meet sales / retention goals.
  • Ensure sales / retention goals are achieved through the effective placement, coaching and performance management of the Strategic Account Executives and Account Executives.
  • Participate in the enhancement of broker environment. Work with other areas within BCBSNE to implement broker training programs, webinars and other pertinent outreach to position the Blues well in the marketplace. Actively call on major brokers/consultants and assist sales executives as appropriate.
  • Work with internal departments and partners to identify points of abrasion between BCBSNE internal processes and brokers/consultants. Work to resolve these issues with the goal of being the easiest carrier with whom to work. Provide input on broker incentive programs, broker council meetings, group leader meetings and assist with best-in-class broker events.
  • Compile and track retention performance monthly; provide updates to leadership on large group activity and competitive landscape. Assist with sales projections based on existing client purchases and business expansions.
  • Product Development Efforts: Develop strong client relationships and provide significant input to planning company product, price and service strategies.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field and seven (7) years’ experience working with health insurance of both ASO and Fully Insured Contracts and Concepts.
  2. Current Nebraska Life and Health License required (or the ability and willingness to attain within 90 days)
  3. 2+ years of leadership and/or project management experience required
  4. Knowledge of Nebraska market, national market and ACA. Must be goal oriented, organized and able to work in a highly competitive, fast paced environment
  5. The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:
  6. Professional designations (RHU, REBC, CEBS) helpful, but not required
