BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid – 3 days in office, Hybrid – 2 days in office, 100% remote. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in one of the following states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.

What you'll do:

  • Create, troubleshoot, and maintain azure cloud computing solutions
  • Administer, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, etc.
  • Automated deployments with ARM/Bicep templates
  • Support teams with CI/CD deployments and troubleshooting on any issues
  • Drive decision making. Identify alternatives, pros and cons, and make recommendations.
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures
  • Provides technical leadership, fosters a team environment, and provides mentorship and feedback to technical resources.
  • Design, develop, implement, and tune large-scale distributed systems and pipelines that process large volume of data; focusing on scalability, low-latency, and fault-tolerance in every system built
  • Developing scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingesting large data from multiple sources.
  • Modern Data Orchestration engineering - query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging big data solutions.
  • On-Call rotation
  • Active participation in Community of practices

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technology-related field; or comparable work experience.
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
  • Experience with implementing controls around IT security, compliance, and governance frameworks such as SOC-II, HIPAA, etc.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Previous experience in Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings
  • Strong experience in scripting such as PowerShell
  • Experience with PowerBI reporting
  • Experience with SQL server/databases and T-SQL
  • Experience with developing different dashboards in Azure
  • Experience with Data integrations tools like Data Bricks/Data Factory/IICS(Informatica)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline and automated deployments
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • Experience with Git, branching & versioning

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
