Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village 3 three days per week and will have the option to work remotely the remaining two days.  Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from June 3, 2024 – August 2, 2024. 

This intern position is focused on Agile Project Management. It will assist Agile teams/projects in the Data Analytics Department. The Agile Project Manager role facilitates our teams to reach our delivery, operations and infrastructure project goals by consistently applying Servant Leadership and facilitation skills. Focused on learning and applying Project Management techniques and principles with the goal of being able to successfully coordinate medium to large Agile Stable teams/mid-complex to complex projects. This role will partner with multiple team project managers to learn different agile techniques to ensure continued focus on the delivery of business value.

What you'll do:

  • Assist project/team planning and delivery activities, including but not limited to—backlog/scope definition and refinement, prioritization, planning, estimation, demos, retrospectives, and stand-ups
  • Partner with management to remove impediments, resolve conflicts and issues that occur to ensure project and program velocity
  • Proactively identify metrics & themes defined by leadership to measure Agile maturity and develop and execute plans to improve maturity
  • Demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment to assigned projects; drive projects toward successful completion; proactively identifying risks and mitigation plans, escalating where appropriate
  • Develop detailed project execution plans; track project progress, milestones and quality; Effectively communicating to program and project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Management to ensure they are aware of resource allocation needs and impact to project deliverables and overall project costs
  • Adhere to project and quality related processes in collaboration with fellow project managers and management
  • Remain flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have the customer experience firmly as the focus

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors degree program in human resources, organizational leadership, business administration, project management or related field.  (Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in Junior year or above).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of the department. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet this requirement.
